Meet The Artist
Howdy, I’m Caley
As a fellow adventurer in our stunner of a natural world, I hope that my work inspires you to feel the bold and joyful spirit of our great wild spaces. I’m a lifelong rambler through the dirt roads and paths of the American West. I’m at my best when I feel entirely insignificant in the vastness of the great outdoors. It’s sacred to me. It sooths, awes, and inspires me. I attempt to capture the emotional impact of our rugged mountain sunshine or the depth of our red clay canyons with my work. Let me share it with you. We can celebrate a world of beautiful spaces and adventure together.
In my life, color has always saturated everything. My personal spaces are always a kaleidoscope of colors. You’ll be at a loss to find beige in my living spaces. As a child, I was drawn to Lisa Frank’s designs and color pallet. Not much has changed regarding my color preferences as an adult. If there is a lime green hat available, you can bet that’s the one I’ll pick from the rack. Whether it is how I dress or how I paint, if it is bright and bold, I’m enamored by it. I often get a grin or compliment for my ridiculous color combinations in my trailside attire, and I bring that same unapologetic energy to the canvas for you to bring into your own home.
When I look at a vista, I see color first and form second. I’m the annoying friend who stops to marvel at the neon pop of moss on a tree trunk or the surprising intensity of colors hidden in a snowbank at sunrise. Yes, trust me, snow has colors, and I’m always looking for the hidden purples and electric blues in the winter landscapes. I take sketches, photos, and memories from my interactions with the wild and dial up the intensity to capture the pure joy of that moment in time.
As an avid outdoors enthusiast and a Colorado native (kinda cliché – I know), I’m grateful to call Silverthorne, Colorado my home. Sitting at 9000 feet right at the base of the Gore Range, I’m able to steep my body and soul in mother nature regularly. If I’m not at the easel, you can usually find me trailside or riverside. I spend much of the year camping in my Airstream, Archie, and navigating back roads in my 4Runner, Tank, to find the quiet places that inspire me most with my husband and 16-year-old rescue doggy, LadyBug.
While a life-long painter, it was not my vocation even though I hold a degree in Fine Arts. My adventurous spirit guided me to a career as an executive building teams for startups and growing organizations of all varieties including an asteroid mining company (I have stellar stories from this amazing crew). My creative nature is present in all areas of my life including my approach to traditional professional domains too. Thankfully, I’ve always kept a paintbrush in hand to maintain my connection to my artistic trade.
Let me invite you to enjoy our colorful life here on this special planet too.
Unapologetic colors. Joyful strokes. As a Colorado native, my work is simply a celebration of the vibrant soul found in our high country.
